Terms & Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By participating in the Bolt Accelerator Programme, South Africa, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not submit an application or participate in the programme.

2. Eligibility

The following eligibility criteria applies to be able to participate in the Bolt Accelerator Programme:

  • You must be an active driver operating on the Bolt platform with at least 100 completed trips.
  • One spouse or one child, 18 years or older, may apply. Verification will be conducted through the account of the driver linked with the Bolt platform.
  • Only one member per family, either the driver, spouse, or child is eligible to apply.
  • You must be a resident of South Africa.
  • Successful applicants should be available to dedicate 4-5 off-peak hours over a period of 10 weeks for an intensive hybrid training and mentoring programme.
  • Have a feasible, innovative, and sustainable business idea aligned with ride-hailing or delivery options.
  • Must be able to participate in English online training and workshops.
  • Must be able to provide a clear pitch deck and a developed concept that is written and/or explained verbally in English.

3. Application Process

The application period will be open from Monday 21 September 2026, to Friday 9 October 2026. Applicants must complete the application form with accurate and truthful information. Incomplete or inaccurate applications may be disqualified. Applicants who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be disqualified.

4. Selection Process

The selection process will consist of multiple stages which work as follows:

  • The top 100 applicants will be selected to a 6-week Academy based on their business ideas where they will receive training and development.
  • These 100 applicants will then submit a pitch video.
  • The top 20 pitches will be selected and progress to a 2-week bootcamp phase of the programme.
  • These 20 applicants will then pitch their business idea to a panel of judges.
  • The top 10 pitches will each receive 2000 euros in seed funding, payable in South African Rand in two tranches.

NOTE: The 80 applicants who do not qualify for the bootcamp will still be able to complete the training in the Academy and receive a certificate of completion when done successfully.

5. Data Protection and Privacy

By participating in the Bolt Accelerator Programme, you consent to the collection and processing of your personal data for programme-related purposes.

6. Picture and Video Consent

All participants will provide pictures for profiling. By participating in the Bolt Accelerator Programme, you hereby grant Bolt the right and permission to use, reproduce, publish, and distribute photographs, videos, or other media content captured during the programme, featuring the participant's likeness, name, and any programme-related materials. This access includes but is not limited to publicity, promotional materials, marketing efforts, and social media channels for an indefinite period.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights for the business ideas and concepts submitted remain with the participants. However, Bolt and its partners may use your ideas for promotional or educational purposes, with proper attribution.

8. Termination

Bolt reserves the right to terminate your participation in the programme at any time, for any reason, including a breach of these Terms and Conditions or inappropriate behaviour.

9. Changes to the Programme

Bolt reserves the right to make changes to the programme, including its structure, timeline, and benefits, at its discretion.

10. Disclaimers

Bolt and its partners make no guarantees regarding the success or outcomes of any participant's business idea. Participation in the programme does not guarantee seed funding.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of South Africa.
